DELPH Sonar
REAL-TIME AND OFFLINE GEO-INTERPRETATION

DELPH Sonar Interpretation can process any type of industry-standard data. It offers complete geo-referenced processing and interpretation capabilities. It can be used as a post-processing tool as well as a real-time tool during acquisition.

DELPH Sonar Interpretation displays a speed corrected profile of the Side-Scan Sonar data, allowing on-screen distance measurement. The drawing and annotation tools make DELPH Sonar Interpretation the perfect tool for Side-Scan Sonar data analysis and reporting.

In real-time and post-processing, DELPH powerful geographic visualization software overlays sonar track lines, coverage, targets and mosaics with other data like bathymetric and magnetic maps, seismic profiles and surfaces, aerial photography or coastline vectors.
FEATURES

Full processing capabilities
DELPH Sonar provides necessary tools to enhance the sonar image quality. The bottom tracking can be given by the sonar and quickly edited or automatically tracked.
  • Per-Channel voltage correction
  • Global / Per-Channel gain control
  • Time Varying Gain (TVG)
  • Automatic Gain based on range or beam angle
  • Automatic bottom detection and manual edition
  • Slant correction

Interpretation capabilities
Sonar targets can be picked on the profile in real-time, time-shifted or in post-processing. A contact manager displays thumbnails of all targets per category and gives a quick access to the measurement and analysis module. All sorts of drawings and annotations (contouring, ROV pictures, comments, etc.) can be created on the full resolution profile. Reporting capabilities include text reporting of all sonar targets and annotations, printing to Windows® printers and PDF drivers, creation of geographic layers for sonar targets, annotations and more.
  • Target picking tool with databasing
  • Analysis and measurement tools
  • HTML and batch ASCII/CSV reporting
  • Drawing and annotation tools
  • Printer and PDF output of interpreted profiles
  • Batch export of the interpretation to ShapeFiles and KML layers

Mapping capabilities
The mosaicking process is highly optimized to quickly generate high-quality sonar maps. DELPH natively produces geographic layers in common standard formats that seamlessly integrate any GIS platform. Google Earth® export of all data permits to easily share survey results and overlay most information layers (aerial photography, buildings, geological maps, etc.).
  • Coverage map generation and export in GIS formats
  • Real-Time and Offline mosaicking in GIS formats
  • On-screen design of exlusion areas (Nadir, Far Range, turns)
  • Native production of GeoTIFF mosaics
  • KMZ format export to Google Earth® of the mosaics, sonar targets, annotations and coverage map

Visualization capabilities
DELPH integrates a cutting-edge 3D geographic visualization to overlay most survey sensors and existing data in a projected environment. Adjustable transparency and vertical scales enriches the interpretation of vertical data (sub bottom, terrain models) with side-scan data and magnetic anomaly maps.
  • Overlay Side-Scan Sonar data with
    - 2D/3D Magnetic Maps and 3D anomaly vector
    - Seismic / Sub-Bottom Profiler 3D profiles, interpretation and horizon surfaces
    - Geographic layers including aerial photography, satellite imagery, coastline and concrete structure plans, etc.
  • Adjustable transparency for all layers
  • Adjustable vertical offsets and exageration
